Studies of eleuthero root have not made it possible to draw firm conclusions about its effects on fatigue and weakness; its use is based on a long tradition.

„Although a possible effect on fatigue and weakness was observed, shortcomings in the study design made it impossible to draw firm conclusions. Therefore, the HMPC’s conclusions on the use of medicines containing eleuthero root are based on their long-standing use.”Chociaż obserwowano prawdopodobne działanie na zmęczenie i osłabienie, niedociągnięcia planu przebiegu badań uniemożliwiły wyciągnięcie ostatecznych wniosków. Dlatego też ustalenia HMPC dotyczące stosowania leków zawierających korzeń eleuterokoka opierają się na ich długotrwałym stosowaniu.

Eleuthero is credited, among other things, with increasing resistance to adverse conditions and supporting learning and memory.

„Extracts of Elutherococcus (commonly called Siberian ginseng, Siberian Ginseng or Eleuthero Ginseng) have an adaptogenic effect, meaning that they increase resistance to adverse environmental factors (increase the body’s tolerance of these factors) and strengthen the body’s ability to adapt to its environment.”Wyciągi z Elutherococcus (popularnie nazywany żeń-szeń syberyjski, Siberian Ginseng lub Eleuthero Ginseng) działają adaptogennie, czyli zwiększają odporność na niekorzystne czynniki środowiskowe (zwiększaj tolerancję organizmu na te czynniki) potęgując właściwości przystosowawcze organizmu do środowisk.

Henryk Różański says that in his studies he observed no effect of eleuthero on blood pressure at the dosage described.

„In healthy people, it may raise blood pressure, so it is officially contraindicated in cases of hypertension. In my studies, I observed no effect of Eleutherococcus on blood pressure (after giving 0.8–1 g of dry extract once a day in the morning for two months).”U zdrowych osób może podnosić ciśnienie tętnicze krwi, dlatego oficjalnie jest przeciwwskazany przy nadciśnieniu. W moich badaniach nie zaobserwowałem wpływu Eleutherococcus na ciśnienie krwi (przy dwumiesięcznym podawaniu leku po 0,8-1 g ekstraktu suchego 1 raz dziennie, rano).

Suma root is credited with increasing physical and mental performance, but the name “Brazilian ginseng root” has been described as incorrect.

„Suma root – Sumawurzel – Radix Pfaffiae Panuculatae, or, alternatively but incorrectly, Brazilian ginseng root, is obtained from the species Pfaffia paniculata (Martius) Kuntze, in the Amaranthaceae family. The plant grows in Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela, Panama and Peru.”Korzeń suma – Sumawurzel – Radix Pfaffiae Panuculatae , albo inaczej, ale niepoprawnie – korzeń brazylijskiego żeń-szenia pozyskiwany jest z gatunku Pfaffia paniculata (Martius) Kuntze, z rodziny Amaranthaceae (szarłatowate). Roślina występuje w Brazylii, Ekwadorze, w Paragwaju, Wenezueli, w Panamie i w Peru.

Henryk Różański credits suma root with increasing physical and mental performance.

„Effects: anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic and anti-rheumatic; increasing joint mobility; relaxing the joints and muscles; relieving spasms; improving digestion; increasing the ability to adapt to the environment (an adaptogenic herb); increasing physical and mental performance.”Działanie: przeciwzapalne, przeciwartretyczne, przeciwreumatyczne, zwiększające ruchliwość stawów, rozluźniające na stawy i mięsnie, znoszące spastyczności; poprawiające trawienie; zwiększające zdolności adaptacyjne do środowiska (zioło adaptogenne); zwiększające wydolność fizyczną i psychiczną.
