Henryk Różański states that 30 to 50 percent of people carry Helicobacter pylori, and that it causes no symptoms in most of them.
- The bacterium is transmitted through direct contact, and sharing unwashed cutlery encourages infection.
- In Poland, several hundred cases of tapeworm infection are recorded each year, along with around a dozen cases each of alveolar echinococcosis and dwarf tapeworm infection.
- Michał Tombak also classifies disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and fungi as parasites.

„30–50% of people carry Helicobacter pylori. Most people who carry it have no symptoms. These bacteria are spread through direct contact (kissing). Using the same unwashed cutlery also encourages infection with the bacterium.”30-50% ludzi jest nosicielem Helicobacter pylori. Samo nosicielstwo przebiega u większości ludzi bezobjawowo. Bakterie te roznoszone są drogą bezpośrednich kontaktów (pocałunki). Używanie tych samych nie umytych sztućców także sprzyja zakażeniu bakterią.

Helicobacter pylori is transmitted through direct contact, and sharing unwashed cutlery encourages infection.
„These bacteria are spread through direct contact (kissing). Using the same unwashed cutlery also encourages infection with the bacterium. Helicobacter develops especially quickly when the immune system is weakened.
It is also worth mentioning Koch’s postulates, which help determine whether a microorganism under study is the cause of a particular disease.”Bakterie te roznoszone są drogą bezpośrednich kontaktów (pocałunki).

In Poland, several hundred cases of tapeworm infection are recorded each year, along with around a dozen cases each of multilocular echinococcosis and dwarf tapeworm infection.
„Several hundred cases of tapeworm infection are recorded in Poland each year. Tapeworms that parasitize humans include, among others: Taenia saginata Goeze—the beef tapeworm; Diphyllobothrium latum L.—the broad fish tapeworm; Taenia solium L.—the pork tapeworm; Spirometra erinaceieuropaei (humans are intermediate hosts, infected after eating raw reptile or amphibian meat); Taenia multiceps—the coenurus tapeworm (humans are intermediate hosts, while dogs are the definitive hosts); Echinococcus granulosus—the hydatid tapeworm; Echinococcus multilocularis—the multilocular tapeworm (humans are intermediate hosts, infected after eating contaminated wild berries or through contact with an infected cat or dog; around a dozen cases of this parasitic disease are recorded in Poland each year); Dipylidium caninum—the dog tapeworm; and Hymenolepsis nana—the dwarf tapeworm (around a dozen cases per year in Poland).”W Polsce rocznie odnotowuje się kilkaset przypadków tasiemczycy. Do tasiemców pasożytujących u ludzi należą m.in.: Taenia saginata Goeze – tasiemiec nieuzbrojony, Diphyllobothrium latum L. – bruzdogłowiec szeroki, Taenia solium L. – tasiemiec uzbrojony, Spirometra erinaceieuropaei (człowiek jest żywicielem pośrednim, wskutek jedzenia surowego mięsa gadów i płazów), Taenia multiceps – tasiemiec kręćkowy (człowiek jest żywicielem pośrednim, żywicielem ostatecznym jest pies), Echinococcus granulosus – tasiemiec bąblowiec, Echinococcus multilocularis – bąblowiec wielokomorowy (człowiek jest żywicielem pośrednim, po spożyciu zanieczyszczonych owoców leśnych, w wyniku kontaktu z zakażonym kotem lub psem; w Polsce odnotowuje się rocznie kilkanaście przypadków tej parazytozy), Dipylidium caninum – tasiemiec psi, Hymenolepsis nana – tasiemiec karłowaty (w Polsce kilkanaście przypadków rocznie).
Michał Tombak
Michał Tombak classifies not only multicellular organisms and protozoa as parasites, but also disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
„Since parasites are usually associated with human worms, I should explain that the term “parasite” refers not only to multicellular organisms and protozoa that live at the expense of a host, harming it, but also to disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Parasites are a powerful army whose task is to fight the immune system of a living organism continuously—from birth until deep old age.”W związku z tym, że pasożyty są przeważnie kojarzone z robakami ludzkimi, wyjaśniam, iż nazwa „pasożyt” odnosi się nie tylko do organizmów wielokomórkowych oraz pierwotniaków żyjących kosztem żywiciela, oczywiście ze szkodą dla tego ostatniego, ale także do chorobotwórczych: wirusów, bakterii i grzybów.Pasożyty to potężna armia, zadaniem której jest ciągła walka z układem odpornościowym żywego organizmu – od momentu urodzenia aż do głębokiej starości.

Michał Tombak describes parasites as organisms that fight the human immune system throughout life.

Michał Tombak lists bacteria, fungi, viruses, and human worms as parasites found in the body.
„These include improper breathing, lack of exercise and hardening of the body, neglect of the spine, poor nutrition, and a lack of internal bodily hygiene (the presence of parasites in the body: bacteria, fungi, viruses, and human worms). What I have written leads to a simple conclusion.”Należą do nich: nieprawidłowe oddychanie, brak ruchu i hartowania ciała, zaniedbany kręgosłup, nieprawidłowe odżywianie, brak wewnętrznej higieny ciała (obecność w organizmie pasożytów: bakterii, grzybów, wirusów i robaków ludzkich). Z tego, co napisałem, nasuwa się prosty wniosek.
Michał Tombak
Michał Tombak presents the presence of parasites in the body as the main cause of the diseases listed.
„Whatever we call a given disease—ulcerative colitis, gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori, chronic sinusitis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis, prostatitis, or colon cancer—the main cause of the disease is the presence of parasites in the body. Nature has equipped humans with a defense system that protects them from disease: the immune system.”Niezależnie jak nazwiemy daną jednostkę chorobową: wrzodziejące zapalenie jelita grubego, zapalenie żołądka wywołane przez Helicobacter pylori, chroniczne zapalenie zatok, reumatoidalne zapalenie stawów, artretyzm, zapalenie gruczołu krokowego czy rak jelita grubego, główną przyczyną choroby jest obecność w organizmie pasożytów.Przyroda zaopatrzyła człowieka w system obronny chroniący go przed chorobami – jest nim układ odpornościowy.
Michał Tombak
Michał Tombak states that the human roundworm can live for about a year, and that reinfection, especially in children, can occur.
„80 days, and the lifespan of one worm is about 1 year, after which the roundworm dies and is expelled from the intestines with the stool. Unfortunately, this parasite (and others) can cause reinfection, meaning a new infection. This is especially common in children.”80 dni, a długość życia jednego osobnika wynosi ok. 1 roku, po czym glista ginie i jest wydalana z jelit wraz z kałem. Niestety, w przypadku tego pasożyta (i nie tylko tego) występuje zjawisko reinfekcji, czyli ponownego zakażenia. Dotyczy to szczególnie dzieci.

A review estimated that about 48–50% of residents of Eastern and Western Europe have antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii.
Aim of the study: BACKGROUND Toxoplasma gondii is a zoonotic protozoan capable of infecting warm-blooded animal species and humans. Although toxoplasmosis is mostly a mild or symptom-free infection in people with healthy immune systems, it can be severe in unborn children and people with weakened immune systems, causing eye, neurological, or multi-system manifestations and even death. AIM We aimed to collect and analyse data on T.
Results: Eastern and Western Europe were regions where T. gondii infections occurred earliest in life, with half of the population expected to be seropositive by the age of 44 and 47 years, respectively. In contrast, in Northern Europe and the UK, the modelled median time to infection exceeded 170 years. CONCLUSION The study results provide a reliable baseline for future epidemiological research on human T. gondii infections in Europe and may help validate later research, such as risk assessment studies.

A meta-analysis estimated that intestinal parasites were found in 46% of the people studied in Brazil.
Aim of the study: Parasitic infections are considered a major public health problem because of the illness and deaths associated with them and their negative impact on physical and intellectual development, especially among at-risk children. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the periodic preventive use of antiparasitic medicines against soil-transmitted helminths to control parasitic infections and their burden of disease.
Results: The prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections (protozoa and/or helminths) in Brazil was 46% (confidence interval: 39–54%), with 99% heterogeneity. Prevalence varied by region: 37%, 51%, 50%, 58%, and 41% in the Southeast, South, Northeast, North, and Central-West regions, respectively. Most studies (32/40) assessed children (<18 years) and found an average prevalence of 51%. Children also had the highest prevalence in all four regions: Central-West (65%), South (65%), North (58%), Northeast (53%), and Southeast (37%). However, most studies examined specific populations, which may have caused selection bias. This review of intestinal parasitic diseases in Brazil is likely based on the largest number of studies and the largest population considered to date. The prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections is high in Brazil, and anthelmintic medicines should be given periodically as a preventive measure, as recommended by the WHO.

In a study of a rural community in Egypt, gastrointestinal parasites were detected in 40.4% of those studied.
Aim of the study: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites (GIP) in the rural community of West Ismailia and the associated risk factors. Human infection with GIP is natural and expected. There are few records of parasitic infection in rural areas of Ismailia Governorate.
Results: The prevalence of GIP infection in the West Ismailia study population was 40.4%, including single and concurrent parasite infections. The most common cause of GIP infection was protists (38%). Entamoeba sp., Blastocystis sp., and G. duodenalis were the most common parasites. Multiple parasitic infections were common in the West Ismailia region. Age, abdominal symptoms, perianal itching, ownership of various animal species, exposure to cloudy water, previous parasitic infection (PPI), and not receiving treatment for PPI were all considered significant factors associated with GIP infection. Some members of the same family were found to have identical GIP. GIP infection remains underestimated in rural areas. Periodic screening and treatment of children for GIP infection, and public education about its risks and prevention, with a focus on personal hygiene, are recommended. Family members of affected individuals should be screened and treated for GIP.

A meta-analysis estimated that intestinal parasitic infections occurred in 38% of preschool- and school-age children in Iran.
Aim of the study: Parasitic infections are a serious public health problem because they cause anemia, delayed growth, aggression, weight loss, and other physical and mental health problems, especially in children. Many studies have examined intestinal parasitic infections in Iranian preschool and schoolchildren.
Results: The infection rate among preschool and schoolchildren was 38.19% and 43.37%, respectively. Giardia, Enterobius vermicularis, and Entamoeba coli were the most common protozoan, helminthic, and non-pathogenic infections (15.1%, 16.5%, and 7.1%, respectively). The data analysis indicated that the prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections is decreasing among Iranian preschool and schoolchildren. Improved sanitation and personal hygiene, greater public awareness, seasonal variations, and health education can help reduce parasitic infections in different communities.

A meta-analysis estimated that 14% of food handlers studied in Iran had intestinal parasites.
Aim of the study: Food handlers, whether they prepare or serve food, play a key role in the transmission of foodborne infections. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections among food handlers in Iran.
Results: 2.0% [95% CI: 0.0–7.0%] and Trichuris trichiura 1.0% [95% CI: 0.0–1.0%]. The high prevalence of commensal parasites, such as Entamoeba coli, which does not require treatment, highlights the importance of personal hygiene among food handlers. Our results revealed a high prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections among food handlers in Iran. Monitoring programs are needed to prevent and control transmission to individuals.
