Henryk Różański states that field pansy extract may soothe psoriasis and skin inflammation.
- A course of treatment with Fibs and supplements may reverse symptoms, leave them unchanged, or make them worse.
- Because Fibs is an immunostimulant, it may worsen symptoms in people with an autoimmune disease.
What the authors write
Field pansy extract may soothe psoriasis and skin inflammation.
A course of treatment with Fibs and supplements sometimes reverses psoriasis symptoms, but sometimes worsens them or leaves them unchanged.
Fibs is described as an immunostimulant, so it may worsen symptoms in people with an autoimmune disease.
Soapwort is listed as a remedy used orally and externally for psoriasis.
A decoction or tincture of buckthorn bark is described as a wash for psoriatic lesions.
Catalpa can be applied externally to the affected area, including for psoriasis.
An infusion of yellow loosestrife is described as helpful for psoriasis because it is said to cleanse and disinfect the skin and reduce inflammation.
The description of the Fibs treatment again says that psoriasis symptoms may improve or worsen, and that Fibs may worsen the disease because it is an immunostimulant.

A review indicates that a low-calorie diet rich in antioxidants, as well as the Mediterranean diet, may improve psoriasis measures.
Aim of the study: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes a significant decline in quality of life. Because it has multiple causes, it is often difficult to manage. In addition to genetic and environmental factors, oxidative stress plays an important role in its development, and the human body’s usual antioxidant defenses cannot compensate for it.
Results: Low-calorie diets rich in antioxidants are highly effective in this regard, especially diets that focus on vegetables and limit animal-derived protein. Specific diets, namely the Mediterranean diet and possibly the ketogenic diet, are very beneficial. The Mediterranean diet’s benefits are largely due to the omega-3 fatty acids it provides and its ability to alter the gut microbiome, which seems to play a notable role in the development of the disease. Another option is to apply vitamin D and its analogues to the skin, together with corticosteroids, which can ease the skin symptoms of psoriasis. Finally, oral vitamin D supplements have a positive effect on psoriatic arthritis and can reduce the risk of associated conditions.

In a study in mice, JPYX decoction reduced psoriatic lesions and inflammation.
Aim of the study: The objective of this study was to investigate the mechanism underlying the effectiveness of JPYX in treating psoriasis in the context of a high-fat diet.
Results: JPYX prevented the release of inflammatory cytokines, reduced keratinocyte proliferation, increased the proportion of Treg cells in the skin, lymph nodes, and thymus, and greatly alleviated psoriatic lesions. Network pharmacology predicted that IL-1β, TNF, STAT3, and EGFR may be potential targets, while KEGG results indicated that PI3K-AKT-mTOR may be a potential mechanism of action. Experimental data confirmed that the JPYX decoction greatly reduced mTOR and AKT phosphorylation. According to metabolomics analysis, amino acids and their metabolites, benzene and its derivatives, aldehyde ketones and esters, heterocyclic compounds, and other substances were the main metabolites regulated by JPYX. KEGG enrichment analysis was performed on the differential metabolites. These included fatty acid biosynthesis, Type I polyketide structures, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids.

In a mouse model, a preparation made from Colquhounia root eased psoriasis-like skin inflammation.
Aim of the study: Background/Objectives: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease driven by an imbalance between Th17 and Treg cells. Colquhounia Root Tablet (CRT), derived from Tripterygium hypoglaucum, has shown clinical potential for psoriasis, but its mechanisms remain unclear.
Results: In vitro, CRT suppressed R848-induced BMDC maturation and inhibited p65/IκBα phosphorylation. Transcriptomic analysis showed changes in the TNF, NF-κB, IL-17, and JAK-STAT pathways. Molecular docking predicted strong binding of several CRT compounds to RELA. Conclusions: CRT has anti-psoriatic effects in a mouse model, along with changes in NF-κB-related DC maturation and correction of the Th17/Treg imbalance. This suggests a potential immunomodulatory mechanism that requires further causal validation.

In one case report, a combination of ozonated olive oil and an ozone sauna was associated with reduced itching and scaling.
Aim of the study: Psoriasis is an immune-mediated skin disease in which genetic and environmental factors play a significant role. Olive oil, which has antioxidant properties, is an effective complementary treatment for skin diseases.
Results: As the itching and silvery-white scaling decreased, the lesions began to resolve after three weeks. No recurrence was noted after 3 months of follow-up. The authors suggest that ozone therapy, in suitable forms and under controlled conditions, may have a role in treating people with psoriasis by inhibiting inflammatory pathways and promoting tissue regeneration, without significant adverse effects or the need for systemic medicines. More studies involving a larger population are needed to confirm this finding.
